We got a bit more money from the last mission than previously, so let's spend it.
We were able to afford an attack upgrade for GaoGaiGar while still being able to afford some HP and armor for Falsaber. Let's leave intermission for the next stage!
Our group has traveled to America, specifically New York City. Guy says he's visiting in order to meet up with people from 3G's America branch, while the others are here to sort of lay low and get away from what was going on in Japan, so accompaning Guy on his trip was a pretty welcome thing.
Yuu is here to find a former student of his father, the late Dr. Tagami, who discovered a new island that arose near Samoa called New Austral Island, but it appears all of that was covered up and the circumstances of Dr. Tagami's death were.... questionable. Seems like a millitary organization called GAIL has an interest about the island...
And oh yeah, Cross is here, to look over Koji for Tsubasa.
At the GAIL base, there seems to be some kind of plan being put into motion surrounding New Austral Island and the secrets the GAIL forces want from it.
Here, we run into Doris, the sister of Dr. Wave, who offers to lead Yuu and the others to talk to him about Dr. Tagami's research on the island.
Inside the lab, the group meets with Dr. Wave to discuss Dr. Tagami's death, as well as New Austral Island. and Dr. Wave says that some shady millitary group probably had a hand in Dr. Tagami's death, and they have an interest in whatever's on New Austral Island. Then, the lab comes under an attack! A Mysterious man shows up to help the group escape.......
Episode 3: New York Suspence
With the help of the man called Captain, the group escapes the building, but can't even tell what's going on quite yet, until...
Strange, bug-like robots appear! It's explained that the SDF-1 encountered these units before, they're unmanned attack robots used by the group called the "Jovian Lizards".
One off them comes in the groups direction! But then...
Yuki: Ah, I know! It's a Gundam from Celestial Being!
Until the others can get to their units so they can help, all the others can do is put faith on the Gundam that has arrived.
Sumeragi: Setsuna, Do you understand the mission? Stop the enemy from destroying the lab.
Setsuna: Roger. Celestial Being, Setsuna F. Seiei, Eliminating the targets!
And with that, we're given control.
Setsuna F. Seiei and his Gundam 00 Raiser. We need to buy time for the others, so we're going to have to make do with just Setsuna for right now.
Yuki: Go! Defeat those Jovian Lizards, Celestial Being Gundam!
Setsuna: Guess we have to test the new GN Condenser in the field, It can't be helped.
Setsuna: With my Gundam, It's my duty to defeat the Jovian Lizards!
Setsuna: 00 Raiser, Destroying the target!
Setsuna: You won't get away!
But the attacks of the Jovian Lizards won't let up...
(Counter) Setsuna: Taking the initiative!
Setsuna: I'll... destroy you!
Everyone things the Gundam's got it won... but then...
a group of AIF-9V unmanned Valkyries appear!
They appear to be hostile drones!
The others figure they could of been sent by some faction wanting to attack the lab, if they're willing to send in unmanned Valkyries, they must be determined to keep the information on the Island a secret.
The WSO girl arrives with the other's units, as Falsaber, Mazinger, and Venus A sorties, as Guy preforms Final Fusion and sorties in GaoGaiGar.
Setsuna: Any assistance you can give is welcome.
Setsuna: (But what is 3G doing all the way out here? What is the UN after?)
Setsuna falls back to where the others are, the last few Jovian Lizards get picked off, and the real fight starts as the Valkyries close in! What ensues is a tough battle, our heroes take damage, but Sayaka does her best to hold everyone together.
Koji: Try to withstand my fist if you can!
Koji: Take this! Rocket Punch!
Falsaber: Be careful, Youta! They're very fast!
Youta: As long as I have justice in my heart it won't be a problem. We're definitely going to get to the bottom of whatever is going on here
Youta: Let's go, unmanned robots! whatever government group sent you is definitely up to no good, and I'm definitely going to bring them to justice!
Falsaber: We can worry about that once we've defeated all of them! Go, Youta!
Falsaber: The power of justice, We will prove it to you!
Falsaber: Saber Knuckle! Ready!
Youta: Saber Knuckle!
Youta: Even with this damage... we will keep going!
While the others are fighting, Guy decides to help even the odds by doing something to support the others with a little suprise, by creating an Arresting Field with the Dividng Driver!
Guy: Alright, Spatial Coordinates Confirmed!
Guy: DIVIDING DRIIIIIIIIVER!
The Dividing Driver isn't an attack, it's a MAP support ability, similar to a Basara song or something. The AoE is pretty large, and all allies in the AoE get a buff that increases ALL of their terrain ranks to S for the duration, it also has a chance to hitting enemies with some kind of debuff, probably debuffing their terrain ranks, However as you can see, it uses up GaoGaiGar's action for the turn, like an attack, and as you see in the last picture, it costs a LOT of energy to do. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to show it off, as teraain S ranks might help up hit these annoying Valkyries.
Anyway, let's finish off those last few Valkyries, and let's stop playing around.

Setsuna: You won't get away!
That looked cool I guess for a stupid Gundam attack... but there's one left, and Guy just barely has the energy to end this properly.
Guy: There's no other alternative!
Guy: HELL AND HEAVEN!
Guy: Gemu...Gi...Gan...Gou...Gufo...
I love this animation so much....
After the enemies are defeated, right as everyone is trying to thank Setsuna for his help, Setsuna and his Gundam leave, how rude! Everyone is still unsure of what's going on, why both the Jovian Lizards and whoever sent those unmanned Valkyries wanted to attack Dr. Wave's lab, Was it about the island? Is GAIL somehow involved?
Aboard Ptolemy 2, Setsuna discusses the battle with Sumeragi, Lockon Stratos, and the other members of Celestial Being, discuss the battle at the lab, and what's going on, Why wee the Jovian Lizards there, who could have possibly launched that attack with the Valkyries and why attack this lab in particular. Was it really to keep this island covered up? What could be on that island that's so valuable?
Taiga contacts Guy to inform him that it still going to be some time before the 3G Mobile Unit will be operational again, as they are still undergoing repairs from the Tokyo Upheaval Operation and the battle with Pasder. As the other discuss what to do about what happened at the lab, and whether to investigate the Island, as well as GAIL. Taiga chimes in and says the 3G staff will help look into it further.
Back in the Main Order Room on G-Island, Taiga and the 3G staff begin to try to sort through this mess. Liger and Leo surmise there likely some powerful technology or some kind of secret on the island if both the Jovian Lizards and whatever millitary is so interested in it. Mikoto establishes contact with S.M.S. to see if they can learn anything about the unmanned Valkyries from the Macross 30 cast...
With that, we get some stuff, and we've once again arrive at intermission! Thanks for reading guys, and I'll see you next mission!
